Is you baby ready to orally feed?

Even asking this question in the NICU is a time for celebration. You have arrived at a wonderful stage in your baby's development. 

Now how do we know if your baby is ready for a feeding trial. There are three basic questions to ask yourself. 

Is your baby demonstrating some rooting behaviors?

Is your baby staying awake while you hold her?

Is your baby able to suck on a pacifier in a way that it stays in his mouth without holding it?
